NEWS FOR 2013

After much discussion we have decided to do the 3 peaks challenge and we are asking everyone who knows us – patients, non-patients, suppliers, family and friends to dig deep in their pockets to sponsor us!  We are raising money for Devon Air Ambulance in 2013.

If you don’t know already,  this challenge is all about climbing the 3 highest mountains in the UK within a 24 hour period – that’s Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in Cumbria and Snowdon in Wales.  YIKES!!

So our training starts in January – Simon, Jackie, Tam, Sandra and Zoe are our intrepid team and  will be joined by Sam Hill who left the practice a couple of years ago to have a baby but is keen to be a part of this amazing trip.

Sponsorship forms and a ‘justgiving’ page will all be available in the New Year.  In the meantime we will relax a bit and not worry about training over the Christmas period!!

Am Dram in Holsworthy

Beverley sisters

Joyce GrenfellJackie was in an Amateur Dramatic Jubilee Celebration at Holsworthy theatre last weekend  - taking part in many songs, sketches and narrations of the era.

In particular she was one of  The Beverley Sisters singing ‘Sisters’ and she also performed a Joyce Grenfell monologue  – for those of you old enough to remember it was one of her Nursery school sketches – ‘Free Activity Period’ – much hilarity ensued!!!

Chagford Film Festival

Chagford Film Festival was established in 2011 by the Globe Inn with three aims:

To support local businesses, raise funds for charity and to have fun!

After the success of the first festival, funding was awarded by the National Lottery's Village SOS scheme and the festival was established as an independent community organisation.

The whole town will swing as local businesses join in the fun - shop windows with film themes, film clips screening in surprise places, staff dressed up as film characters, quizzes and themed meals in our lovely pubs.

At Chagford Dental Practice we have put together our own window display with a film theme.  See if you can guess what it is……

Sally Returns from the Olympic Village

DSC01551 Sally has returned to Chagford Dental Practice having had a brilliant time in London where she has been working as a volunteer dentist at the Olympics for 3 weeks. The dental clinic was very very busy and the hours were long (10 hour shifts sometimes starting at 6am or finishing at 11pm) but the atmosphere in the Olympic village was amazing and she was very pleased to have been involved.

We are delighted she is back home with us now!
